Luther: Series 1 Episode 6

As continued from episode 5 where Ian Reed shot Luther’s ex wife Zoe, Luther was on the phone when Ian shot her. He went to Zoe’s house as quickly as possible but Reed has already left. He has framed Luther, by smashing a picture frame, smashing the window/door and made a big mess. This is because he wanted to frame him, and by smashing everything will make it obvious that Luther done it as he is short tempered. Luther holds Zoe in his arm... he then realises that Ian has set him up so he runs away. In episode 6, Luther is now a suspect for the murder of his ex wife. Mark finds out Zoe is dead and thinks it was Luther, but later on he realises that it wasn’t Luther as Alice brought him to Luther and they talked and Luther explained that he didn’t do it. When the police was searching for evidence they found a gun, Luther and Alice both went and got the gun and cleaned it and threw it away, this was because the gun that Reed used to kill Zoe had Luther’s fingerprints on it as he was the one that gave him the gun. Towards the end Reed and Luther arrange to meet up and ‘talk’. Reed doesn’t come by himself; they are both surrounded by the police as they wanted to get Luther. Whilst they are together Mark has gone down to the station and went into reeds lockers and brings back some evidence to Luther just as reed walks in to check on his locker... he notices that there was something missing and luckily he had a camera in the locker and caught mark and went after him. Reed goes after mark and mark goes to meet up with Luther. Luther grabs reed and they start arguing and fighting, Luther get the gun off reed and holds it to his head but doesn’t shoot him... he throws the gun onto the floor and at this point reed gets a knife and stabs him and kicks him to the floor and starts shouting ‘you should have shot me when you had the chance’. Alice then steps in as she sees Luther suffering and says ‘Ian’ and wanted to shoot Ian but Luther kept saying no so she asked mark if he wanted him shot and he said yes so Alice shot him.

Luther - Series 2, Episode 1

Still plagued by the death of his ex-wife, Luther returns to work to face a surreal and nightmarish case of a masked murderer determined to enter into folklore. As the body count rises, Luther must use all his skills to stop the killer, at the same time trying to rescue an old acquaintance's daughter from the dangerous world of prostitution.

Luther starts off with Alice Morgan being questioned, she is asked about Luther and Ian Reed, this is obviously relating to the last episode in Series 1 where Luther's wife Zoe got killed by Ian. Luther is still very emotional and upset about the death. There is also a serial killer wearing a mask. The MO of the killer is strangling and then cutting the victims throat with a knife. The killer then targets 3 females throughout this episode. As this is all happening we see the Luther is an Anti Hero as he was told not to go anywhere near Alice, but he goes and sees her, when he leaves her  he throws an apple over the wall, in the apple there was a note but we don't get to see what was written on it. As this crime goes on, Luther is also trying to rescue an old acquaintance's daughter from the dangerous world of prostitution. He takes him to Mark to look after her, she is then handcuffed to a chair in order for her to not to escape. Towards the end of the episode DS Ripley is in the car and the serial killer wearing his mask appears in the car behind the seat...

•  Daughter of a rich family had a terminal illness, her family found dead in her bed. The doctor said that she died because of her illness. 
• The doctor found a trace of blood from her ear but it was going the opposite way as she was lying down in bed at the time when she was found dead. 
• They thought that she could have been hanged so they done some more research on the body and they found some bruises on her neck meaning she couldn't have been hanged. 
• The mother of the girl had stopped giving her medication.
• The girl was leaving her inheritance to a charity in Costa Rica but this charity didnt exist, her sister and the boyfriend had made this charity up so that they could keep the money. 
• In the end we found out that her sister killed the girl in order to receive the money she had.
