Luther – Series 1 Episode 5
The episode begins with a couple moving into their new home, the door bell rings and the man opens the door and he gets taken down by two kidnappers; one male and one female. They are both armed and a man walks in and orders the man to give him the diamonds but the man doesn’t have them so the kidnappers begin to search the bags and find nothing. The boss then says that he has 2 hours to bring him the diamonds of Jessica his wife will start to get cut; he then cuts her tongue off. They then take Jessica and lock her away, James then goes down to the police station and speaks to Luther asking for Ian and shows them Jessica’s tongue. Meanwhile Mark tells Zoe that he’s going to move out for a while. James calls the man that wants the diamonds and they arrange to meet up, they meet up at a shopping centre and all the entrances are covered with cameras everywhere so that Luther and Ripley can try and catch the men to track down Jessica. James puts the bag in the bin and a man and women who kidnapped Jessica at the beginning go and get it but there are no diamonds inside, the women reaches out into her bag to get her phone to call Dan to say there are no diamonds but then Luther and Ripley take action and begin to chase them, they manage to catch the female but Luther loses the man. Later on Zoe comes to the office to talk to Luther, she tells him that things are no over and he lashes out and yells her to get out and starts throwing things around and ends up smashing the window. Ripley manages to talk to one of the kidnappers and he goes to get Jessica, on the way Dan catches them and cuts one of their ears off and their hands and fingers. Ian goes to his friend to tell him that his nephew is dead, he feels sick. Ian then takes off his tie and goes and strangles him. Later on Luther realizes that Ripley is not himself and figures out what he’s done and tells him not to go and kill him but it was too late. Luther then goes to the hotel where Dan is staying at and breaks in and they start fighting, Luther tells him that there is someone coming for him and wants to hurt him. Ripley then storms in with gun and they start talking. Luther just wants to help him, Ian then pulls the trigger and shoots Daniel in the head and runs off. Luther runs after him but loses him. Ripley then puts the gun to his head but doesn’t pull the trigger.... he then goes to Zoe’s house and tells her to call Luther and tell him to come round, but she wasn’t allowed to say that she was with him, she starts panicking and refusing to do it. Ripley gets the gun out and forces her to ring him, she makes the phone call panicking and tells him that Ripley is here with a gun. Ripley then shoots Zoe in the stomach and frames Luther for the murder.

Luther Series 1 Episode 4
The episode starts off in a field, with a woman lying dead on the grass, around her where some of her possessions. They were laid out by the killer; he laid out everything around her and took her necklace (a crescent). The man who committed this crime was called Graham, it was his wife’s birthday today and as a present he gave her the necklace. His wife thought he had forgotten about her birthday as he only gave it to her in the evening. Later on they went to the pub with some friends. Graham leaves the pub and says he’s going into work... he’s a cab driver, so it was easy for him to persuade the victims into the cab. Luther managed to work out that he was a cab driver and tries to track down all the cab drivers. Later on in the episode Luther finds out that it is Graham, so Ripley goes to see Graham’s wife Linda when she is working to find out more about her husband and where he was these last nights. Linda told Luther that she has been married to Graham for 20 years, and that she has tried leaving him but he said he would kill himself if she did leave, he smashed his wrists so that she wouldn’t leave him. She also tells him that he goes through her phone when she’s having a shower; she forgot to delete one of the texts that she received from the man she is cheating on with him. Luther leaves the room and Linda is left alone and looks at all the photos that have been used as evidence to what Graham has done, and she bursts into tears and rips off the necklace he gave her. Alice dresses up as a nurse and goes in to kill Henry Madsen by suffocating him. Luther was shocked, he then received a phone call from Alice and he goes mental and starts yelling down the phone telling her to leave him alone etc. Luther realises that the man Linda is cheating on with is in serious danger as Graham is about to go after him.... Graham knocks on the door and kills him. Minutes later a prostitute called Layla comes to the door. Luther calls her and tells her to keep smiling as if she was talking to her friend as he is about to tell her that Graham is a dangerous man... she asks if she can go to the toilet but he doesn’t let her. Layla runs to the toilet and looks herself in there. Graham tries to get in but doesn’t manage to, he goes downstairs and gets a hammer and begins to hammer the door down. Layla is terrified and calls Luther to hurry up. She turns around and finds a dead body in a bag and screams. Later on Linda arrives and acts normal, Graham walks down the stairs to find Linda with the police. Graham puts down the hammer and is arrested. Linda runs up the stairs to find Layla in the bathroom and runs back down and picks up the hammer and runs after Graham and hits him on the back of the head, there was blood everywhere... She killed him.

Kidnap And Ransom - Final Episode
At the start of each episode there's a little scene showing Dominic King putting a body in the water... at the end of the episode we found out who the body was.

- Dominic's friend who was helping him in the kidnap was found dead back at the hotel. Police say that her archery's are snapped as 'someone' stamped on her neck, she was also violently pushed and she tried fighting back.
- Dominic's wife tries convincing him to come back home with her as Robert doesn't want him on the case anymore, he thinks its best to bring someone else.
- Anwar still has Shaun and tells Dominic to get him the money or he will kill Shaun. Shaun's wife receives a picture of Shaun blinded folded.
- Leela takes Flo and she goes and has a shower whilst Dominic figures out that Leela's boyfriend is the hostage that was on the bus and he was part of the kidnapping. Anwar finds Shaun annoying and puts him in the back of the car boot and tells him to 'shut up'. Flo comes out of the bath room to find Leela and Mahavir (the hostage) together.
- Leela calls Dominic and he asks to speak to Mahavir as he knows that he's now involved in the kidnapping. Mahavir then calls back Dominic as Dominic didn't give Leela the money so he's annoyed. He says he will kill Flo if he doesn't give the money even though he said he wouldn't kill her.
- Dominic and his wife go to meet with Anwar and Flo and Leela and Shaun. Leela brings Flo with her right up to Dominic where as Anwar leaves Shaun in the car. Dominic's wife goes to check on Shaun to see if he's still alive. Shaun goes back to Dominic's car whilst Dominic gives Anwar the money. Dominic convinces Leela to give Anwar back the money, so that he would let Flo go. Flo runs back to the car to where Shaun is, Dominic and Leela also follow and get in the car. Whilst driving away they get a bullet through the back window... it was Mahavir.
- Dominic finds Mahavir dead, he wrote a letter. It was Mahavir's body that was shown at the beginning of each episode being put in the water.

Luther As A Flawed Anti-Hero
Luther is an anti hero because:
- He is single minded and doesnt do what a police would do. For example he went to see the criminal without any back up.
- He goes against the law
- He creates his own rules
- Left man to die, instead of helping him
- Breaks into Alice's apartment
- He got into a fight with his wife's new boyfriend
- He blackmails people into getting a confesion.
- He goes against procedures
- He has a relationship with Alice

Kidnap And Ransom - Episode 2
Anwar Razdan is about to kill the first hostage before Dominic shows him proof that his family have been temporarily released. He showed him his father’s funeral and his family there. Dominic now has to try and negotiate the release of the hostages before anybody works out that the British Foreign Secretary’s daughter, Flo Holland is on board the bus. An Indian police sniper ends up taking a shot at Anwar as the hostages are being released and he panics and starts to drive the bus away. The bus travels through the streets of Kashmir and the police give chase. Anwar and Leela are missing with Flo and another hostage, Shaun Cooper when the police manage to catch up with the vehicle. When the police catch up with the bus they find the old man panicking and trying to start the bus as Anwar had ordered him to drive them all away. Anwar takes photos of Flo and puts them up on the internet as she is worth a lot and he tries to get the highest bid whilst Shaun is tied up in the boot of the car. Flo then talks to Leela and tells her that her dad can help her if she lets her go. Leela wanted to go to the UK and live a normal life, for this to happen she needed to let Flo go so that her father could help her. At the end of the episode Leela tells Dominic where they were and he goes to look for them and finds out that there gone and hurry’s back to the hotel to see his female partner that was helping him dead on the floor.

Interrogations: This is where people who are involved in the crime are interviewed to see if the police/detective can gather up more information in order to solve the crime. This is so it is easier for the police/detective to find out who the criminal is. Interrogations play a big part of this scene as it helps us to find out who committed the crime. Having an interrogation scene makes the audience think and wonder who committed the crime.

Initial Crime Scene: This is the scene where the crime has been committed. Investigators go to the crime scene to see if they can find out what has happened and collect evidence. The evidence found gets taken a picture of with an evidence cone beside it and the evidence is then taken to the lab to get analysed to find out who has done the crime. This scene is important as we get to see how the police handle the situation and what they do in order to solve the crime. - Police Tape

The Chase: This is the scene of where the police/detectives are chasing the suspect. This adds tension in the crime drama as it engages the audience to carry on watching and they are hoping that the suspect is going to get caught. - Cars

Informing Next Of Kin: This is where the family of the victim are informed of the death. This is an important scene as the family may know of some sort of information linking back to the death in where the victim was or what she was doing and who she was with at the time of the murder. - Lab
